Some people call it chicken coops others call it chicken houses and in some parts of the world it’s call chicken sheds. It’s just a name.
Anyway, the aim of this site is to make people aware that they too can raise chickens cleanly and cheaply. My personal reason for promoting chicken coops are many on vary in different levels.
Here’s some of the reasons why I have a chicken coop:
- To have the freedom to choose what I eat as far as eggs a re concerned.
- I care for the welfare of animals and think even if we can’t all be vegetarians we can at-least offer these animals a safe place to exist in a humane way.
- No hormones in your food. Chickens are in captivity are raised in bad conditions. It is a prison from hell for them and they are basically fed bad food and in profit thought businesses they are fed their own droppings. Nothing is wasted.
- The eggs offered from a backyard chicken coop is tonnes better than purchased versions.
- You can share eggs with other people.
There’s obviously other reasons but the top five that I can come up with in a short time are the above.
I am more of a vegetarian and raise chickens for their eggs only.
Eggs are great for a growing family then sustain you and give you daily energy and nutrients.
