The auction house can be a very complicated when your first learning the market. When I first starting using it I understood the concept and what I needed to do, but I had no ideal what I should be buying and selling for big profit. When I first heard how people where making most of their money by using the auction house I right away went and spent six or seven hundred gold on what I thought people would buy and I could resell for double the price. (That might not seem like much today, but back in vanilla that was a lot.) Big mistake I had no ideal how many people out there where doing the same thing. I suggest you don’t make that same mistake.
Before you even start buying anything scan that AH at least once in the day and once at night for a couple of days. This is just gonna be a small list of items that always sell for me whether it’s vanilla or cataclysm.
Enchanting Materials – Of course this is gonna be on the list. If you think about it who doesn’t use a enchant. First thing you want when you hit max level is gear and enchants. There is no real reason not to buy any that will make you a profit they will sell quick and if they don’t give it time they cost nothing to put up anyways.
Twink Gear – Any item you see on the ah that is selling for cheap that you think a twink will want use buy it. You can get huge profits buying and selling this kinda of gear most people don’t know what they have when there selling it. It’s very easy for me to know what people want I have a ton of twinks I have made over the years. If you’re not sure what you should and should not buy a good rule of thumb is anything rare that is a higher level for each bracket like seventeen through nineteen, twenty-seven through twenty-nine etc. Easy way to make sure it’s actually anything a twink will want is to go to the battleground forums and check what people our wearing. you might also go to a site like wowhead and compare what you have to anything else that can be used at the same level.
Cloth – I am talking about that lowbie cloth not the high-end stuff. Wool cloth, mageweave cloth low stuff like that usually will make a big profit especially if you actually take a couple of hours and just go farm some yourself. The high-end usually always sells but the profit margins our way different since you have so much competition.
There you go three easy items to start buying and selling on the auction house to get you foot in the door on making tons of gold.
