Organic chickens are known to be one of the healthier meats available. They are not exposed to as much toxins as other chickens are, making them rather clean. When it comes to raising chickens that are organic, the process begins from the eggs of organic chickens. Everything needs to be organic from the second day onwards, giving them only organic food and organic chicken non synthetic vitamins. Do not add in animal byproducts into their diet.

Another thing you will need to do when raising chickens that are organic is to make sure that their feed is clean. While you can easily find organic feeds available, you can even grow the ingredients on your own, and of course, organically. If you are growing the ingredients, make sure you clean them properly before the feed. Mix them with the organic feeds from time to time.

Furthermore, you will need to give your chickens the freedom to move about. Let them have access to the outdoors, shelters, fresh air, and even direct sunlight, and make sure that their coop is ventilated, dust-free, dry, and clean. Do not keep them confined in cages for a long period of time because it is unethical and may not be permitted by the certifying agency.

From time to time, you may need to trim your chickens beak and toes so that they do not hurt each other nor do they hurt themselves. This is dependent on each chickens condition, so do get advice on when and how to trim them.

Lastly, you will need to keep your organic chickens healthy through preventive measures, such as providing them with enough nutrition, feeding them on time, and making sure that their living condition is proper and well maintained. Do not feed or inject antibiotics or synthetic parasiticides otherwise the eggs they produce will have traces of them. Do treat them with medicine under doctors advice if they are sick though. The only problem to this is that you simply cannot sell them off under organic meat.
