Wire fencing for your Farms

Agriculture is the foundation of every economy. Farming is the main source of food around the globe. Farmers invest a lot of their money, time and hard work to produce crops and maintain livestock. As a considerable amount of money is invested in farming so it becomes necessary for a farmer to protect his/ her farms. It becomes difficult to keep in the livestock and the predators out without a proper fencing. 

Farm fencing is used to keep animals in/ out as desired in a particular area. It also prevents the crops getting damaged by unwanted animals. A fence is on an average about 4ft high. It prevents the cattle to go out of the field. The fence laws of a particular country or state define whether the animals can roam out of the boundary or have to stay within it for grazing. Earlier fences were made of wood or stones, but now there are varied kinds of farm fences available. 

Wire Fence

These fences are commonly used. A non electrified wire is attached to wooden posts. To prevent sagging of the wire fence which increases risk of escape or entangling of animals, high tensile wires are being used. 

Barbed Wire 
Two mild steel wires are twisted together with 15 -30 twists per meter and steel barbs are attached every 10 -20 cm. These are pretty effective for containing cattle. It is not advised to use barbed wire farm fencing in horse stables as it increases risk of injury for a fast running animal with thin skin can run into it. 

Smooth wire 
It is like a barbed wire without the barbs with either two twisted wires or a single strand of wire. It is less likely to cut if an animal gets entangled in it. 

High Tensile wire 
these are special hard, springy steel wires which can be insulated and electrified. They are expensive as they cannot be easily stretched by the animals. 

Woven wire
these farm fences are usually installed to keep in pigs or sheep. Wire knots are wrapped around each intersecting wire. They are costly and take time to install them. Its variation field fence is better as it has narrower opening and animals do not get stuck in it. It can be used as a cat fence also. 

Electric fence 
Light weight steel wires are attached to posts with insulators. Animals receive an uncomfortable but harmless shock when they come in contact with it and eventually learn to stay away from it.
