Chickens in Your Backyard – Easy Enough For a Newbie

These days everyone is thinking about saving money and saving the environment, and as we all know that is a beautiful thing. But how does that lead us to raising chickens, you may ask? Chickens are environmentally safe and very rewarding pet that will save you lots of money.

In fact lately many people have asked me “what is the greatest benefit to building your own chicken coop in your backyard?” Well, there are so many it’s hard to settle for just one, but, if I had to say just one I would of course say the eggs, farm fresh, pesticide free, right in your backyard eggs!! But that is not really all chickens can do for us. Raising chickens is a rewarding experience for everyone that has tried it. I have yet to hear, NEVER, EVER AGAIN WILL I RAISE CHICKENS! Yet have I heard that they are too much trouble and that someone ended up having to get rid of them. Every experience with raising chickens that I have heard of is a great experience that everyone should try. And trust me, once you try it, you’ll never buy a store bought egg again!

That all being said, I recommend to everyone that you build a chicken coop in your backyard and here is why:

Chickens are also, and don’t take this lightly, chickens are a great source of entertainment also. You have no idea the hours of fun your family will have just watching these animals. They are just like any other animal and each and everyone has a very distinct personality of their own, which makes raising them not only entertaining but also a great bonding experience. If you have never seen, held or been around chickens you have to try it, you will fall in love instantly!

So with all the great benefits to raising chickens you have to ask yourself “who wouldn’t want a chicken coop?” And I happen to agree!
