Life After Lay Offs

Unemployment rates are going up and along with it, there is a morale drop in our work force. In my business I have found that many of the unemployed of the day are over 45, have been in the corporate world for 20 years plus and are just sick and tired of the Corporate grind. If those in that category would file for unemployment, I believe that we would be looking at an unemployment rate over 15%. Many have taken packages to leave their employ or received severance and have been laid off.

Some of the unemployed have taken time off to reflect on what they would like to do, or even take a stab at something really off the wall, like SELF EMPLOYMENT. Self employment sounds so good until you lay down at night to go to sleep and break out in a sweat.. You may feel that you are unqualified, or have too much to risk. You may feel that the investment is to big. Some even feel that there is too much failure with having your own business.

Remarkably enough, fear is what holds most of us back. Fear that I believe is unrealistic. Fear that is out of control. Stop the fear train and take a breath. Yes You can. Yes you will succeed. Yes there is help. Thousands of folks just like you, take the plunge every week to start a business. There are over 4000 different types of franchises, business opportunities and work from home options. We look at business icons and think that they are untouchable. Business icons such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet etc. PS. Non of which were great college students or even completed college. There are other business leaders with less notoriety, that are earning 6 figures per year or even 6 figures per month. They are unsung leaders with a system a goal and a good coach.

There are 3 ways to accumulate wealth.

1. Leveraging Money

2. Leveraging People

3. Leveraging Both

It is kind of like baseball. To win in Baseball you need:

1. Good Pitching

2. Good Hitting

3. Good Defense

Any two of these will make you a winner.

The secret to success in Business is You. Yes you were laid off, but you have options. The options are endless. You can do your part to improve the economy of the United States. You can plug into the pipeline of infinite wealth found here in this great country. There is wealth being created today, and as we come out of this economy there will be new millionaires created, that are starting right now. There is no need to fret over being laid off or downsized. You can find businesses today for under $ 10,000 that you can earn 6 figures or more per year.

I believe that today is perfect to start a new business. Put away the naysayers and those that are stuck at the bottom rung of the ladder. Indeed.com, Monster.com and career builder.com still have thousands of jobs available today. My personal opinion is that it is time for you to be one of the Business advertisers on one or all of those sites to find your own employees!  Give it a chance. Yes You Can!
